FGS Curriculum Overview Fall 2008 Winter 2009 Spring 2009
Fall Term “Beginnings and Connections”
As we come together to form a new school, we will experience beginnings and connections in many different contexts. We will examine effective study, research and organizational techniques, as we look for patterns in the way we best process information. We will look at the patterns and connections inherent in language and mathematics.
Our study of the formation of the earth will lead to the creation of a time line of Earth’s history. We will explore world geography, early civilizations and the connections to our modern world.
Our fall term culminating event will be our Civilizations Exposition.
Fall Interim
The weeks before winter break will allow time for independent study, community internships and holiday giving projects, as well as reading, writing and math workshops.
